EA announce list of games to be affected by Gamespy shut-down

Dozens of cross-platform titles will lose their multiplayer support in the planned shut-down.

The Gamespy server shut-down is scheduled for the 30th June 2014. On that day games on both PC and console will lose their multiplayer support and no longer be accessible online. EA have been so kind as to announce which of their games will be affected by the shut down, which you can find here.

If you’re looking for the quick version, here are some big titles that will lose their multiplayer support on PC:

  • Battlefield 1942
  • Battlefield 2
  • Battlefield 2142
  • Battlefield Vietnam
  • Command and Conquer 3
  • Crysis
  • Crysis 2
  • F1 2002
  • Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2

PC games affected by the shut-down total to 24. Hope for their online survival now lies within the modding community, although EA have not released a statement regarding allowing open-source modding to accommodate their online survival for these titles.
